Sam's Club is the eighth largest retailer in the nation who recently announced that they had teamed up with SquareTrade, a San Francisco, CA-based warranty provider and a number of other partners to provide feature-packed mobile phone protection plans for Sam's Club members.   

In a release, Huey Long, senior vice president of Sam's Club Technology Services, said, "Mobile and smart phones are part of today's lifestyle and keep us connected, entertained and productive. At Sam's Club we offer our members the best value on mobile phones and smartphone hardware, accessories and connection plans. Our members have told us they want simple solutions to protect their devices. By developing this program with SquareTrade and others to offer a value bundle of the most useful solutions, we are able to deliver on our goal to our Members to provide 'Savings made Simple'." 

The new protection packages which are priced at $59 for standard phones and at $99 for smart phones will offer Sam's Club members a two year protection offer in the event of any normal failures which include replacement of batteries in addition to accidental damage protection which also includes complete liquid immersion with a deductible amount of $49.

Members will also be offered a two year guaranteed buyback plan at 50 percent of the original price of the phone as well as a service for next day replacement. Apart from this, the protection packages also includes data backup service and GPS locator software which can help in tracking down lost devices via a remote data clearing capability for smartphones. Members will also be offered round the clock toll-free technical support from tech experts at Sam's Club.
