Imagination Technologies (News - Alert), a multimedia and communications technologies company, has just released the HelloSoft's Rich Communications Suite (RCS) client, an integrated multimedia communication solution, featuring enriched voice and video calling with multimedia content sharing capabilities.

The RCS client is a comprehensive ready-to-deploy client solution available on a wide range of platforms and devices, the company said.

HelloSoft (News - Alert)  RCS Client is based upon the latest release of the HelloSoft V.VoIP mobile and embedded SDKs which provides: complete V.VoIP functionality; interfaces to basic and enterprise call features; a highly customizable user interface; full standards compliance; and support for multiple platforms, extensively interoperated and field-deployed.

HelloSoft RCS also comes with enhanced address book/contacts and messaging (SMS/MMS) over MSRP. It is compliant with GSMA (News - Alert) RCS 5.0/5.1, IR.92 VoLTE standards and integrates all of features of the latest release of HelloSoft's V.VoIP (Video and Voice over IP) SDK.

"The latest release of our HelloSoft V.VoIP mobile and embedded SDKs offer significant opportunities to enrich the customer experience, encouraging more flexible and frequent communication and helping to strengthen the mobile operator's relationship with them,” said Tony King-Smith, VP marketing, Imagination, in a statement.

“Maintaining the operator's relevance as the primary provider of communication services will become even more important as competition shifts from the messaging market to the far more valuable voice market,” King-Smith added.

The RCS client also includes multihomed session support offering synchronized presence and support for login to multiple devices simultaneously, seamless handoff and XDM and XCAP implementation per Open Mobile (News - Alert) Alliance (OMA) and 3GPP standards.

The Rich Communications Suite client enables video sharing during a circuit switched call while audio is still in circuit switching mode. It also supports live video or video play from a local file.

The integration of RCS and VoLTE delivers a complementary solution for consumers who want to share multimedia and files in real-time but the challenge is to combine these services efficiently to deliver a low-power, reduced latency solution which ensures superior quality for mobile users even in spotty wireless environments.

HelloSoft's Rich Communications Suite client implements innovative algorithms to provide a superior Video and Voice over IP quality, even at a packet loss rate of 30 percent, the company said.
