Strengthening Mobile UC in 2013

By Allison Boccamazzo, TMCnet Web Editor

Respectfully, you’d have to be hiding under a pretty enormous rock to not know that the mobile market is exploding right now. Earlier this month, it was reported by mobility expert, TMCnet’s Tony Rizzo (News - Alert), that mobile broadband would deliver key global telecom revenue growth through 2016. Moreover, it was also reported by TMCnet around that same time that mobile VoIP growth would be explosive this year, as a recent “Global Mobile VoIP Solutions Market 2011-2015” report predicted the global market to grow at a CAGR of 64.6 percent until 2015. Bottom line: mobility is here to stay, yet while the mobile market continues to pave the way for innovation and continued growth, mobile UC seems to lag behind.

Mobile unified communications (UC) is pretty self-explanatory; it brings unified communications (ie. business phone capabilities including caller ID, IM and more) to your mobile devices. Understanding how to tackle this issue of strengthening mobile UC is critical, which actually comes right in time for an upcoming panel session happening at this week’s ITEXPO (News - Alert) Miami 2013.

If you’ve found yourself wondering how mobile workers can benefit from mobile UC, how UC will fare in light of the exponential growth and adoption rate of handheld devices and how they can work together to accommodate both personal and business environments, then you should definitely check out “Creating an Unbeatable Mobile UC Experience,” a session bringing together an array of industry experts for a truly unique experience.

In fact, it was revealed today that Doug Makishima, chief operating officer at D2 Technologies (News - Alert), will be joining this esteemed panel to bring key insights to the table for attendees. According to a statement released today, Makishima will join other key speakers to “discuss how mobile operators can collaborate with UC vendors to provide enhanced value offerings for a seamless UC experience across both wireless and wireline communications for business users.”

The session will be moderated by Larry Lisser (News - Alert), Embrase, who will prompt the panelists to share their thoughts on how mobile operators can collaborate with UC vendors to deliver the kind of personalized, social experience to business users that consumers already enjoy outside of the office, the statement added.

The not-to-moss event will be taking place this Thursday, January 31st at 2:30 p.m. at the Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami, Fla., and is free for all ITEXPO conference attendees.
